POLOKWANE – Motorists in the city are urged to use alternative routes and exercise patience as certain roads in the city will temporarily close on Sunday, 21 Juluy.
This is due to to the funeral service of late ANC struggle veteran, Ike Maphoto.
The funeral service will be held at Polokwane Cricket Club on Sunday, 21 July. Suid Street will be closed on corner of Dorp, corner of Voortrekker and corner of Landdros Maré between 06:00 and 15:00.
In a statement, Municipal Spokesperson, Thipa Selala, added that parking at the stadium and Cricket Club will be granted to those attending the funeral service.
“The municipality is urging all motorists to adhere to instructions given by the law enforcement officers,” his statement concluded.
