The National Council of African Women (NCAW) in Limpopo will host their provincial women’s conference at a venue in Polokwane from 16 to 18 August.
The conference will be hosted under the theme: “Education is the key to unlocking human potential”.
Expected at the conference are members of the organisation’s Lebowakgomo, Thabamoopo, Polokwane, Mabel Chueu, Seshego, Moletjie, Molepo, Turfloop, Hoedspruit and Mahwelereng branches.
Kentse Makgae, acting Public Relations Officer of NCAW in Limpopo said they were expecting more than 50 delegates at the conference. “It is a three-day event aimed at empowering women across the board. We want to introduce the organisation to all women in the province and create awareness about it. We want people to join, especially the youth because most of our members are pensioners and young people can learn a lot from them,” Makgae said.
She said they were looking for sponsorships to cover the fees of anyone who wants to join the organisation. “The membership is R200 for those receiving a social grant and R500 for those who are employed or pensioners. We also need potential sponsors to assist with affiliation for employed youth and elderly. This is in line with our motto derived from Jesus’ words: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
Anyone wanting to assist can call Makgae on 082 200 5364.
