Water shortages expected in Polokwane due to vandalism of the Specon pipeline

Lepelle Northern Water says it will take three to four hours to repair the pipes

POLOKWANE – The Olifantspoort Plant has stopped pumping water to Polokwane, reports Lepelle Northern Water (LNW).

The water board says this is due to vandalism of the Specon pipeline in Mamaolo village. All areas of supply will be affected and the estimated time for repairs is between three to four hours.

Spokesperson for the Polokwane Municipality, Thipa Selala says water supply to all affected areas will be restored once the leaks are repaired and notes that it will take some time for water to reach all areas of supply after the repairs.

“The Municipality will provide regular updates in terms of progress and we urge residents to use water sparingly,” his statement concluded.
