UPDATE: Man (51) arrested for murder of Modimolle pensioner

A 51-year-old man was arrested for the murder of Trudy Grabe outside Lephalale this morning.

LIMPOPO – Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe said the accused was arrested at Reabetswe village in Witpoort at his sister’s house.

Grabe was murdered on 23 August. On the day the police received a report of a woman who was found critically injured in her home and responded. On arrival, she was found in her yard with multiple injuries and was certified dead on the scene. Preliminary police investigations revealed that one of her ex-employees was seen leaving her house on the same day that her body was found.

The accused will appear in the Midimolle Magistrate’s Court on a charge of murder.

Acting Provincial Police Commissioner in Limpopo, Maj Genl Samuel Manala commended the detectives for their swift reaction which led to the arrest of the suspect. He further thanked the community for the role they played in supplying the police with a valuable information.
