Limpopo drug operation leads to arrest of 4 suspected drug dealers in Hillbrow
The four men were arrested today on charges relating to drug dealing, during a multi-disciplinary take-down operation in Hillbrow, Gauteng.
LIMPOPO – Their arrests follow an investigation that ensued in Limpopo in response to a public outcry over the availability of drugs in the province. The investigation led to Gauteng, and the four ‘kingpins’ were arrested at a flat in Hillbrow, said Hawks Spokesperson, Capt Matimba Maluleke in a statement on Friday.

The arrest was made during a joint operation led by the Hawk’s Serious Organised Crime Investigation team in collaboration with Crime Intelligence, Limpopo Tracking Team, Priority Crime Specialised Investigation, Provincial Organised Crime unit, Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (Special Task Force), Tracker South Africa and MAGMA Security Company.

During the arrests, police also seized drugs, to an estimated street value of over R1,5 million, two mixers, two scales, two laptops, and an undisclosed amount, he added.
All four men, aged between 27 and 42, are expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 14 October on charges relating to dealing in drugs. Investigations still continue and more arrests are expected, Malukeke concluded.
