Polokwane Municipality provides bursary support to deserving learners

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality is awarding bursaries to local learners or students who wish to study towards a degree or diploma in 2020.
This opportunity is only available to GR 12 learners or first year students at public universities, university of technology or TVET College. Applicants should also be from a disadvantaged background and permanent residents within the Polokwane municipal area.
Requirements:
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- Permanently reside within the Polokwane Municipality
- Currently in matric OR completed matric
- Studying or intend on studying full-time towards your first degree or national diploma qualification
- Studying or intend on studying at a public University/ University of Technology/ TVET College
- From a disadvantaged background
Students with disabilities are welcome to apply.
Download and complete the Polokwane Municipality Bursary Application Form. Forms are also available at the municipal civic centre on the corner of Bodenstein and Landdros Maré Street, Office 908.
The following documents should accompany the application forms:
- ID document (certified copy)
- Latest Gr 12 results, academic records (certified copy)
- Parents/ guardians ID documents (certified copies)
- Proof of acceptance/ provisional admission to study full-time at a recognised tertiary institution
- Proof of residence (from an authorized traditional leader/ ward councilor)
- Parents/ guardians proof of income (certified copies of latest payslips/ latest financial statements if self-employed/ certified death certificates if deceased/ affidavit confirming that one parent is not working if only one parent is bringing in an income)
- In the case of deceased parents, attach a copy of death certificates (certified copy)
Applications must be either hand delivered to the Civic Centre, Cnr Landros Mare and Bodenstein Street, Polokwane (9th Floor Office 908 OR Ground Floor) or
posted to PO Box 111, Polokwane, 0700.
