Give old toys and unwanted gifts a new home

Where can you go with all those unwanted gifts from last year or old toys? Here are a few ideas.

POLOKWANE – Your closet is a place where you can find many things, perhaps an adventure similar to Narnia. When you open it you may find clothing items you have not worn in many years, toys of your children they have outgrown as well as multiple items you convinced yourself that you needed. Your closets and cupboards become a lost and found box of sorts and let’s face it – you are never going to use these items again. So what do you do with them? We have made a list of places you can give these items to, so that they (and you) can add some Christmas joy to their festive season.

Where to:

• Several churches in the city have containers for donations which in return will be given to people in need.

• Various institutions such as shelters also find themselves in need of extra clothing items to send out to people in need.

• Initiatives such as the Heart Drive Project also helps people in need.

• Another well-known place for people to drop off their unwanted items is at the SPCA store in Savannah Mall where items are sold to help animals at the SPCA shelter with their needs.

• Make up an old shoe box with goodies and hand them out at hospitals or drop them off at institutions such as Cansa.

Spread the joy this holiday.
