ThyRest will wrap your gifts with love
ThyRest has partnered with Checkers Mall of the North this festive season to wrap Christmas gifts for customers for free in return for a donation of any amount that the customers feel they can afford.
POLOKWANE – Ekuphumleni Restoration Home, popularly known as ThyRest, is a registered NPO located in Seshego zone 8 which provides safe shelter and restoration to female victims and survivors of sexual abuse, human trafficking, gender-based violence, femicide and women in prostitution, who would like to exit the industry.

They have been running this campaign for three years and every December, they wrap gifts to give customers one less thing to worry about this festive season. They have been located at the entrance of Checkers from 1 December to 24 December and they urge people to come have their presents wrapped with love. “The money raised will go towards the day-to-day running of ThyRest to ensure that the ladies they take in, have necessities such as toiletries, groceries and everything else that improves their quality of life,” Nobesuthu Javu, founder, said. She urged that as people do their Christmas shopping and purchase gifts, they should kindly remember that there are people who would like to enjoy a meal and also be surrounded by family but because of social issues, they are unable to. “We as Thyrest want to afford that opportunity to our clients and give them a Christmas to remember. Please support us by buying any gift and purchasing toiletry items and dropping them at our station. Be the change you want to see, be involved and do not look away,” she added.
People who are able can also reach into their hearts and makes donations to the home to ensure that it is able to successfully take in women and restore them.
