Gifts or not this Christmas: Polokwane parents share their views

Christmas time is one which is associated with gift giving, but is that what all parents do?

POLOKWANE – Review asked a few parents about what they think about buying gifts for their children.

Minkie Molepo – “I love buying gifts for my daughter on many occasions, be it a birthday, graduation, Christmas, new year – you name it. I believe gifts make children happy regardless of what kind of gift it is.”
Lebohang Motaung – “I think children deserve gifts on Christmas to show that we love them. Christmas is known as a time spend with family and gifts should be given to children so that they look forward to Christmas every year.”
Lebogang Mannya – “I buy gifts for the children when it is Christmas. I buy clothes and gifts because I believe kids should be spoiled every once in a while if not every month.”
Reabetswe Mabotja with her son Tebogo. “I believe it’s a good gesture to buy children something for Christmas. Every child loves getting spoiled here and there. I would buy my child something for Christmas, especially when he has done well in school.”
Tshego Tladi – “I would buy my children gifts at any time. They deserve to be spoiled and shown that we love and appreciate them. Parents need to buy their children gifts every once in a while.I do not have a problem buying them Christmas gifts.”
