Local spinner, Katlego ‘King Katra’ Mokgoshi needs your vote
Seshego zone 2's favourite spinner, Katlego 'King Katra' Mokgoshi, is appealing to the community to help him represent South Africa in the United Kingdom at the SA Spin Talent England Tour.
POLOKWANE – The 20-year old is one of 10 spinners representing Limpopo and needs the community’s vote to reach the top five, giving him a chance to show off his skills in front of the rest of the world.
Well known for his unique stunts, Katlego fell in love with spinning at a tender age thanks to his father, Pux Setsiba, one of the city’s best spinners. In 2015, at the age of 14, Katlego started learning the art of spinning and taking part in local competitions across South Africa and neigbouring countries such as Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland. BONUS spoke to Katlego about his prized possession, his vehicle, which he said he bought second-hand. “While spinning, I realised that the 325 engine was too small for my stunts and that’s when I switched to a Lexus V8 engine because it has more power.”
He said he received help from his father, who is a mechanic, to make sure he had a good engine to spin with.
“I’m confident when it comes to stunts and I know that could help me win the trophy. For me to represent not only South Africa, but Seshego, would be an honour. I am ready to compete,” he said.
Katlego will compete in Botswana on Saturday, 1 February at the 2020 Spin Season Opener hosted at the Mmanmashia Kuvukiland Spin Arena and will go head-to-head against the likes of Jeff James, Bad Company, Sunesh, General, Sheriff, King Joe, Rabana, Magistrates, and many more head spinners.
The SA Spin Talent England Tour is set to take place on 28 June and will comprise a team made up of the country’s best spinners as voted for by the public. To vote for Katlego, SMS ‘SAST KATRA L’ to 45633 at a cost of R1,50.
