Eskom announces loadshedding relief for tonight

The power utility has however added that the system remains unpredictable and constrained and that loadshedding will return on Sunday.

POLOKWANE – Eskom has announced that loadshedding will be suspended at 17:00 today due to an increase in the performance of its generating units.

A statement released by Eskom this morning said that unplanned breakdowns at some generating units have also decreased. This allows them the opportunity to fill up their emergency reserves in a hope to better meet next week’s demands.

The good news however stops there as the power utility added that while it’s able to provide some relief, the system remains unpredictable and constrained and that loadshedding will start again on Sunday at 08:00.
