[TAKE NOTE] R71 road open
The road between Tzaneen and Magoebaskloof was closed to allow emergency personnel to recover a truck which plunged down the mountainside early this morning.
LIMPOPO – The R71 road between Tzaneen and Polokwane is now open. It was closed for about four hours to allow emergency personnel to recover a truck which plunged down the mountainside early this morning. No fatalities were reported.

LIMPOPO – The R71 Magoebaskloof road is temporarily closed following a truck incident earlier today.
The Spokesperson for the Department of Transport, Matomi Moremi-Taueatsoala confirmed that the road between Tzaneen and Magoebaskloof will be closed until around 14:00. This is to allow the relevant parties to recover a truck which plunged down the mountainside early this morning.
The truck overturned near Magoebaskloof Mountain Lodge.
Motorists are urged to use the alternative R528 (George’s Valley road) or the R81.
