‘Faithed-Up’ to spread message of love, hope

Preaching positivity is what she is all about, says Tebogo Phuti Semenya

POLOKWANE – “What’s read on you says a lot about you.”

These are the words of Tebogo Phuti Semeya, the founder of the brand Faithed-Up, which she founded in June this year. The 27-year-old Polokwane resident said the idea to start the brand was born last year as she has always wanted to have a brand that represented Christianity.

“Looking around, I realised that people can perceive something about you based on the clothing you wear and the slogans on your shirts. I then thought a clothing brand is a great way of motivating, encouraging and preaching positivity on possibilities to people all around the world,” she explained.

Her target market is Christians, or people who believe and have faith in God. As a born-again Christian, the phrase ‘faithed-up’ appealed to her and it was the outcome of motivation derived from many sermons and teachings about faith at church.  “One line that I cannot forget and continues to serve as inspiration is that faith without actions, is dead. Faithed-Up is here to help you make your faith a lifestyle by acting upon it. If you have an idea of doing something don’t sit on it, but put your faith in it by acting on that idea,” she said.

Tebogo is adamant about the importance of wearing a brand that speaks positivity, saying it encourages the wearer and others who see it. She is a firm believer that the brand would help to negate negative thoughts and doubts, which she says are thieves of success and progress in life. The T-shirts sell for R180, both long and short sleeves. “They come branded already because it will be a registered trademark soon as we are still in the process of registration,” she added.
