[TAKE NOTE] R71 bypass closed

POLOKWANE – The R71 bypass is temporarily closed following a multi-vehicle collision earlier this morning.

According to reports the collision happened between Silicon road and Grobler street. Three trucks and two cars were involved. No fatalities.

“The R71 is closed on N1 North and N1 South and on the bridge next to Peter Mokaba Stadium,” says Thipa Selala, Spokesperson for the Polokwane Municipality.

Emergency services are still on the scene and motorists are urged to reduce their speed upon approach.

Polokwane traffic officers on the scene will redirect traffic, adds Selala.
