Polokwane Traffic Dept, licensing station closed for disinfection

The closure of the facility follows a staffer testing positive for Covid-19.

POLOKWANE – The Traffic Department and licensing centre in Ladanna has been closed to ensure safety among its employees and members of the public.

Municipal Spokesperson, Thipa Selala confirmed to Review that the centre will be closed on Friday, 3 July for disinfection  at the facility.

“The disinfection and closure of the facility follows a colleague testing positive for Covid-19. The official is stationed at the facility,” the statement reads.

Selala added that the municipality gathered health and other services to assist the official and to identify the person’s close contacts.

Normal operations at the centre will resume on Monday, 6 July.

“Customers who wish to access traffic and licensing services can visit Aganang and Mankweng centres. Polokwane Municipality urges all its employees and members of the public to observe and practice Covid-19 safety measures that include the wearing of a face mask at all time, regularly washing hands with soap or sanitiser, social distancing and coughing etiquette,” the statement concluded.
