Another Limpopo dept closes due to positive Covid-19 case

According to the department's spokesperson, a senior official is currently in isolation.

POLOKWANE – A senior official at the Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure has tested positive for Covid-19.

According to a statement by Departmental Spokesperson, Joel Seabi, the official informed the department when he received his results today.

“The departmental head office on 43 Church Street will be closed effectively from today until further notice, to allow health protocols to take effect,” the statement said.

The MEC, Dickson Masemola wished the affected official well and directed that the matter be handled swiftly.

“It is in the interest of everyone’s safety to effect the temporary closure immediately as a precautionary measure. We again call on everyone to continue adhering to the Disaster Management regulations and avert the possible devastation by this pandemic,” Masemola said.

Seabi confirmed that the official is currently in isolation to undergo treatment and added that all the district offices remain open for various kind of services.
