Copper cables stolen from mini-substation in Polokwane

Power supply will be restored once the cables have been fixed.

POLOKWANE – Another cable theft incident in Polokwane will leave consumers without power supply today.

Thipa Selala, Municipal Spokesperson, said in a statement that the Polokwane Municipality’s energy services department is working on restoring electricity supply to consumers who receive their power supply from the mini-substation in Silicon Street.

Selala said copper cables have been stolen from the substation and he urged members of the public to help in the fight against cable theft and protecting service infrastructure, by reporting suspicious activities to the police.

He added that power supply will be restored once the team has fixed the cables.
