Limpopo reports record high 764 new Covid-19 cases
According to the Limpopo Health Department's latest statistics, the cumulative number of cases is at 24 029.

LIMPOPO – The Limpopo Department of Health says the province recorded 764 more Covid-19 cases in the last 24-hours. The additional cases bring the number of cumulative cases to 24 029, of which 20 454 people have recovered.

According to the department, 14 more Covid-19 related deaths have been recorded which brings the total number of deaths to 592.
Nine of the newly recorded cases have been unallocated and the most new cases were recorded in the Capricorn district (309).
Polokwane had the most new cases (269), while Lepelle Nkumpi (27), Blouberg (9) and Molemole (4) made up the rest of the district’s cases.
The Vhembe district had 165 new cases of which 70 were recorded in Thulamela, 62 in Makhado, 19 in Musina and 14 in Collins Chabane.
The majority of the Mopani district’s 131 new cases were recorded in Tzaneen (58). Giyani had 45 new cases followed by 22 in Phalaborwa and six in Letaba.
Waterberg recorded 123 new cases. The most new cases in the district were recorded in Modimolle-Mookgophong (42), followed by Lephalale (37), Thabazimbi (24), Bela-Bela (16) and Mokgalakwena (4).
The Sekhukhune district had the least new cases (27). Of these cases; 12 were recorded in Elias Motsoaledi, seven in Fetakgomo/Tubatse, five in Makhuduthamaga and three in Ephraim Mogale.
The department says there are currently 2 983 active cases and thus far, 139 022 tests have been conducted.
