Two men were arrested following a tip-off.
Police in Westenburg, on Tuesday, arrested two men (aged 34 and 35) after stolen goods worth over R300 000 were discovered at their residence in Extension 44, Greenside.
Police received a tip-off after a courier van was robbed on the R37 near Malomane village in the Apel policing area.
“The identified house was searched and one suspect was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and he was immediately arrested. The second suspect was found hiding in the ceiling of the house and two firearms and ammunition were found in his possession,” Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe said.

A large number of cellphones and several other electronic gadgets were recovered in the house and the VW Polo, believed to be the car used during the hijacking incident, was also confiscated.
The men will appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 4 March, facing charges of possession of suspected stolen properties and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition,” Ngoepe explained.
He added that the men will later appear in the Apel Magistrate’s Court to face a charge of car hijacking.
