[TAKE NOTE] R101 north of Mokopane closed
A truck crash outside Mokopane has resulted in the temporary closure of the road between Mokopane and Polokwane.
POLOKWANE – Traffic is being redirected onto the N1 road following a truck collision on the R101 road near the Percy Fyfe turnoff.
The collision involves two trucks and the R101 between Mokopane and Polokwane has been temporarily closed, said Matomi Moremi-Taueatsoala, Spokesperson for the Department of Transport.
“There are no fatalities, but the two trucks have blocked the road,” he explained.
Motorists travelling between Mokopane and Polokwane are advised to use the N1 road.
Road closures due to protest action
Meanwhile the department advises motorists to avoid the R81 between Polokwane and Mooketsi. This is due to protest action near Solomondale outsdie Polokwane.
“Protesters have blocked the road with tyres and stones.”
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
