[INFOGRAPH] Dam levels in Limpopo stable

LIMPOPO – The Department of Water and Sanitation’s weekly State of Dams report indicates that the provincial water storage is at a stable state despite its decrease to 87.5% this week from last week’s 87.8%. This is a remarkable improvement from last year when the provincial water storage was at a low of 70.4% during the same period.

In the Mopani district, Ebenezer Dam which supplies majority of the communities around Polokwane, has seen an increase from 84.1% last week to 88% this week, while the Tzaneen Dam stands at 101.1%. Middle Letaba Dam is at a critically low level of 12.4% this week compared to last week’s 12.2%.

Dams in Sekhukhune district also indicated a slight decrease in the dam levels from last week, with De Hoop Dam at 96.9% and Flag Boshielo Dam at 100.9% this week.

Doorndraai Dam in Waterberg district remains at critically low levels, despite a slight improvement to 39.8% from last week’s 38.8%. This is still an improvement compared to when it reached 13.5% last year at this time.
