Mahwelereng: Suspects shoot and kill three in ‘taxi-related conflict’
A taxi driver was shot and killed in a guesthouse in Mokopane and two men were ambushed in Mahwelereng.

MOKOPANE – The police have launched a 72-hour activation plan to hunt down the perpetrators who shot and killed three men in separate taxi-related incidents in the Mahwelereng policing area on Sunday evening.
Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe said that a special task team comprised of police members derived from different units, is hard at work to track down the suspects involved in the murder of a 29-year-old taxi driver in Mokopane and two unknown men in Mahwelereng.
“The taxi driver was gunned down at a local guest house at around 20:30, while the two unknown men were ambushed while travelling in a minibus taxi and were shot and killed at around 21:00.” In both incidents the suspects fled the scene of the crime.
Ngoepe added that the motive behind the two incidents are still unknown but that taxi-related conflict has not be ruled out.
“The suspects involved in these incidents are still unknown and the police appeals to anyone with information that can assist them to arrest the perpetrator(s) involved in these incidents, to contact Lieutenant Colonel Richard Boshomane at 079 894 5501 or Detective Sergeant Chabane Matjeke at 082 414 5958.”
