POLOKWANE – Nape Primary School, outside Seshego, has joined the Pick n Pay School Club that awards learners who show heroic abilities in a school environment. The school’s first ‘hero’ is Gr R learner, Melisa Rambau, who, according to her teachers, has set a standard of selflessness, bravery and courage.

Event coordinator and teacher, Lesetja Chuene says identifying the learner of the month is tough because many learners have gone out of their way to be the hero since the project was announced.
The school believes that projects such as these have the potential to boost the moral and discipline of the learners.
“Our first recipient is a tiny learner with a big heart. This is a prime example of how size doesn’t matter and we are hoping the older learners can learn a thing or two from her.”
Principal, Ditebgo Maphari says Melisa was selected because she goes out of her way to assist other learners in class while making sure that her own school work is done.
“She is a kind young girl, who is always first to compete her work in class and then takes the time to help the other learners. She will be getting a certificate and a badge that she will wear to school.”
