POLOKWANE – The learners had fun as they learned about the various animals in the world and how they survive in their natural habitat.
Share Joy Preschool owner and principal Josephine Kagori explained that under normal circumstances, they would take the children to a nature reserve but they were unable because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Kagori explained that the reason they dedicated the month to lessons about animals is that it’s never to soon to learn about the ecosystem and everything in it.
Various animal-related days were celebrated in August. These are International Cat Day (August 8), World Lion Day (August 10), World Elephant Day (August 12), National Honey Bee Awareness Day (August 21), National Dog Day (August 26) and International Whale Shark Day (August 30).
“It is good to know what the animals do for the ecosystem. Although we are unable to take them to see the animals physically, it’s good for them to know about these things,” she said.
