PAC hosts 1 000-strong half marathon for 40th anniversary
Polokwane Athletics Club celebrates its 40th anniversary with a half marathon, with participants testing their fitness in multiple distances.
POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Athletics Club (PAC) celebrated a milestone on Saturday as their half marathon drew exactly 1 000 participants to the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The event, which marked 40 years of promoting unity, diversity, and wellness, brought together runners of all ages and abilities.
Participants tested their fitness across three distances: 21.1km, 10km, and 5km. For some, it was a fitness milestone, while others used the event as preparation for future challenges.
PAC chairperson Thabana Mokgohloa expressed the club’s excitement as they gear up for the Capricorn District Municipality’s 4-in-1 marathon on February 15. The event promises even greater challenges, offering distances of 5km, 10km, 21km, and 42km.
Mokgohloa confirmed that digital registrations are now open on www.peaktimes.co.za until February 11. Manual registrations will follow on February 12, 13, and 14.
