Midweek rain expected in Polokwane

A steep upper air trough is expected to bring 'large amounts of rainfall' to Limpopo and Mpumalanga this week as well as a steep dip in temperature.

POLOKWANE – Remember to keep an umbrella nearby this week as rain has been forecast for the city.

According to Storm Report SA, a steep upper air trough will bring ‘large amounts of rainfall’ and thunderstorms in Limpopo and Mpumalanga.

This will also bring lower temperatures from Tuesday (September 20) with a steep decline on Wednesday (September 21).

People’s Weather’s forecast suggests a 30% chance of rain on Tuesday with a 60% chance of rain on Wednesday and a high of just 15ºC. A total of 4mm of rain is expected this week.

Accuweather’s forecast suggests a 25% chance of rain on Tuesday and a 40% chance of rain on Wednesday with a high of 18ºC.

Temperatures will warm-up from Thursday with a clear and warm weekend expected.

Monday (September 19) will be the warmest day of the week with a maximum of 31ºC while the highs over the weekend will range between 27ºC and 29ºC.

Sunny conditions are expected from Friday onwards with partly cloudy conditions forecast from Monday through to Thursday.
