Bendor bust: Two foreign nationals arrested for dealing drugs

Nyaope worth an estimated street value of over R50 000 was confiscated during the arrest on Monday (May 8).

POLOKWANE – Two foreign nationals, ages 34 and 41, appeared before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court today (May 9) on charges of possession and dealing in drugs.

The duo were arrested by the Provincial Crime Intelligence Narcotics Team together with the Provincial Organised Crime Unit on Monday (May 8) at a house in Bendor.

Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the units followed up on information received about the two men dealing drugs in the area and an intelligence driven joint operation was conducted.

“The operation led to the arrest of the two male suspects who were found in possession of 11 balls and 100g of nyaope with an estimated street value of R56 000,” his statement read.

The acting provincial police commissioner Major General Jan Scheepers applauded the team for the arrest and further urged the community to continue to support the police in the fight against crime by reporting all forms criminality.

Ledwaba said police investigations continue.
