Nigerian man (38) arrested for dealing drugs in Polokwane CBD
The man was caught with crystal meth with an estimated street value of R30 000.
POLOKWANE – A 38-year-old Nigerian man will appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Thursday on charges of possession and dealing with drugs following his arrest on Tuesday.
The foreign national was arrested in the Polokwane CBD by members of the Provincial Organized Crime Unit and marks the second arrest of a foreigner in less than a week.
The man’s arrest follows several others in the Polokwane area over the last few weeks with the most recent being a foreign national’s arrest on September 9.

The suspect was spotted driving a hatchback with a Limpopo registration number on his way out of a complex for delivery.

Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the suspect was caught with crystal meth that was found hidden under the driver’s seat and has an estimated street value of R30 000.

Ledwaba added that the suspect was arrested and the drugs as well as the motor vehicle, valued at R80 000 was seized.
The provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe commended the team for showing relentless efforts in their work in ridding the province of drugs.
