Deputy minister visits poor performing Limpopo school

The principal of Raluswielo Secondary School, Vhangani Mudzwari was grateful for the visit and declared 2024 as a year of improvement for the school

LIMPOPO – One of the dysfunctional schools in the Vhembe district, Raluswielo Secondary School was paid a visit by the Deputy Minister of Public Service and Administration, Dr Chana Pilane-Majake, who encouraged both learners and teachers to continue working hard during this academic year.

Pilane-Majake visited Limpopo last week, leading the annual departmental Back to School Campaign aimed at supporting schools, encouraging both learners and teachers to continue working hard during this academic year.

Raluswielo Secondary School in Sibasa is one of the poorly performing schools in the region, with a 33% matric pass rate in 2023.

Prior to addressing learners of Raluswielo and Phaswana secondary schools in Sibasa, Pilane-Majake last Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to the royal Mphaphuli, where she was warmly welcomed by Thovhele Gole Mphaphuli.

Mphaphuli said he wanted the school to improve on its results and cautioned that learners cannot achieve remarkable results if they bully one another or abuse alcohol.

Pilane-Majake told learners of Raluswielo that part of his visit to the school was to motivate and assist learners at the start of the academic year. “You have to dream big. The future belongs to you as learners, however, you have to respect and develop good working relationships with your teachers.”

The principal of Raluswielo Secondary School, Vhangani Mudzwari was grateful for the visit and declared 2024 as a year of improvement for the school. Mudzwari said they already started with morning and afternoon studies and have introduced Saturday classes for Gr 12 learners.
