Sam Tambani Foundation donates shoes to 6 Lim schools

Chairperson of the foundation, Maemu Tambani, said the foundation aims to help disadvantaged learners whose parents cannot provide sufficiently.

LIMPOPO – “These are our children, brothers, sisters and future leaders of this country,” the chairperson of the Sam Tambani Foundation, Maemu Tambani remarked at the official handover of school shoes to six schools around Sinthumule and Kutama area on Friday.

She presented shoes to disadvantaged learners of Mugidane, Manau and Harold Rudzani primary schools as well as Manaledzi, Tshirululuni and Livhivhini high schools and said the foundation aims to help disadvantaged learners whose parents cannot provide sufficiently.

“Our area is one of the poorest areas in the province, and if we do not do something for our learners, some will end up dropping out of school,” she said. “I know what it is like to go to school without the proper support. I know how painful it is to be teased by other learners for not having the right uniform.”

Vhakoma Vho- Patrick Sidebi could not hide his happiness and said it was a great gesture by one of their own residents.

“We are very grateful for what Tambani has done today,” he said, and told learners to count themselves lucky to be receiving the uniforms. He urged businesspeople from the area to follow in Tambani’s footsteps.

On behalf of other schools, the chairperson of Harold Rudzani Primary School, Sampson Davhana said he was speechless about the donation. “I am grateful that the promise has finally been fulfilled. I believe our kids will no longer hesitate to come to school during winter now as they have shoes.”
