Brazen Polokwane CBD shooting leaves businessman injured

Onlookers say the man was queuing at an ATM when he was shot at by four assailants.

The police in Polokwane are yet to confirm whether a case has been opened following the shooting of a businessman in the CBD on Friday (March 8).

The man was rushed to hospital after having been shot twice while standing in an ATM queue at a shopping centre in Bok Street close to the taxi rank.

Onlookers said they saw four men got out of a blue sedan, firing several bullets to disperse the crowd before shooting the victim, who was carrying a backpack.

“The men took the bag before they took off in their vehicle,” one eyewitness told Polokwane Observer.

Other witnesses said nearby taxi operators also fired several rounds in the hope to scare off the assailants.
