Planned electrical shutdown to affect a large part of Polokwane

Residents and businesses in more than nine areas in the city will be affected by an eight-hour planned electrical shutdown on March 25 and 26.

POLOKWANE – A planned electrical shutdown will leave several suburbs in the dark on March 25 and 26.

The Polokwane Municipality says the shutdown is for the installation of new breakers and will affect residents in the following areas:

Annadale
Correctional Service
Emdo Park and surroundings
Enterprise Factory
Fire Department
Game Centre
Hoër Tegniese Skool Tom Naude o Hoërskool Noorderland
Industria
Laboria
Ladanna

Ladine
Lafarge
Lesedi Park
Mahlako a Phahla
Mahlasedi Park
Nissan Garage
Pietersburg Hospital
SABC
Traffic and Licensing Centre
Water Purification Pump Station

Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said the shutdown will be in effect from 08:00 to 16:00 on both days.

“This essential maintenance work is aimed at enhancing the reliability and safety of municipal electrical infrastructure. During this period, it is important to note the following: Substation for testing and commissioning purposes,” he said.
