Seshego water plant is now operational but there are pipe leaks already

A municipal team of technicians and engineers are attending to the leaks with the utmost urgency, says municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala.

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality says that while the Seshego Water Treatment Plant is now operational, the system is already experiencing pipe leaks and bursts.

Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said the plant being operational is an important milestone in their ongoing effort to ensure reliable water supply to Seshego and surrounding areas.

“However, the pipe leaks or bursts in the township area is happening when water is released from the plant,” his statement read.

Selala said the pipes are promptly being attended to with the “utmost urgency” by a municipal team of technicians and engineers.

“Once the necessary repairs are completed and the plant is fully operational, the community will be informed accordingly,” he said.

“The municipality reassures the community that the plant is equipped to meet the water needs of the area and remains committed to delivering clean and safe drinking water to all the residents and businesses.”

Residents are urged to report any water-related emergencies or concerns to the following numbers:

The municipality’s hotline at 015 290 2000/015 023 5000

The dedicated Water and Sanitation Helpline: 015 290 2376 or
