Equipment stolen during farm burglary on Marken road

HPG traced the footprints of three suspects, ultimately recovering the stolen compressor, which had been discarded some distance away from the scene.

MOKOPANE – The Heritage Protection Group continues to respond to the escalating challenge in apprehending and tracking down criminals as crime rates continue to rise.

Last week, HPG responded to a burglary report at a farm located on the Marken road outside Mokopane.

Upon arrival, it was evident that the perpetrators had cut the wire surrounding the store room to gain entry.

“The door of the store room was forcibly opened, and valuable equipment including a compressor and various tools were stolen,” confirmed spokesperson Hendrik Hatting.

Additionally, three tires were reported missing from a trailer on the premises.

HPG traced the footprints of three suspects, ultimately recovering the stolen compressor, which had been discarded some distance away from the scene.

“The footprints led us approximately 1.2 km to the tar road, where evidence suggested the items were loaded onto a waiting vehicle after cutting the wire,” Hatting elaborated.

The matter is currently under investigation by SAPS Tinmines, as efforts intensify to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure the safety and security of the community.
