Thohoyandou doctor publishes book on questions children ask

With a career spanning over 30 years as a general medical practitioner, Dr Muremela aims to impart his experiences and insight.

LIMPOPO – General practitioner in Thohoyandou, Dr Lutendo Samson Muremela recently published his fifth book, ‘Common Questions Young People Ask’, which answers several questions young inquisitive minds have.

It answers questions which parents don’t have the answers to, or provide answers to those who do not have parents to ask.

He hopes the book will go a long way in answering those questions that remain unanswered from their parents.

“Parents who often don’t have the right answers shift the blame to teachers, whom they think stay all day with children and are responsible for answering such questions. I hope the book will save parents from embarrassing situations when their children are in their teens.”

With a career spanning over 30 years as a general medical practitioner, he acknowledged that he doesn’t possess all-encompassing knowledge, but aims to impart his experiences and insight as a doctor.

He published his first book, Living, A Healthy Life, in 2019, Why Men Die Younger in 2020, Women’s Health, 2021, and Fundamental Truth of Success in Life in 2023.

Common Questions Young People Ask was launched on May 4 in the church hall of the Living Gospel World Mission’s Malavuwe branch.

Born and raised in the rural dusty village of Matsika in Malavuwe, just outside Thohoyandou, he furthered his studies at the then University of the North, now University of Limpopo and the Medical University of South Africa (Medunsa), now called the Sefako Makgatho Health Science University.

The book was published by Dr Lutendo Muremela and edited by Dr Israel Mulaudzi.
