Mitchell House’s EC celebrates Sibling Day

POLOKWANE – A special day dedicated to celebrating the bond between brothers and sisters, Mitchell House Enrichment Centre (EC) celebrated Sibling Day on Friday through planting flowers.
The EC learners’ siblings from other schools and other grades came to visit them during school hours to spend some time with them.
Mitchell House EC head of phase Melissa Mostert told Review that this is a day to honour the relationships that exist between siblings and to acknowledge the unique and special connection they share.
“Most individuals who have siblings know and understand that siblings are often the first friends we make in life. They are our constant companions, confidants and partners in crime. They are the people who share our childhood memories, our family traditions and our values. They are the ones who know us best and can understand us on a level that no one else can.”
She added that the bond between siblings is a complex one, filled with ups and downs.
“There are moments of great love and support and moments of rivalry and conflict, but at the end of the day, siblings are there for each other. They have each other’s backs, no matter what.”
In some classes, the learners were also advised to say something special or what they love about their siblings and why. The siblings bonded more as they planted the colourful flowers.
