Polokwane teacher dedicated to nurturing young minds

Leeoni Motau, a passionate teacher and manager at Local Toddler Pre-Primary School, strives for holistic development in her students.

POLOKWANE – Leeoni Motau (31) from Polokwane is a teacher with a vision, dedicated to providing learners with the support they need to enhance their education.

With over five years of experience as both a manager and a teacher at Local Toddler Pre-Primary School, she stands out as a beacon of guidance and inspiration, skillfully balancing her dual roles with grace and passion.

Motau’s journey in early childhood education is driven by her love and passion for nurturing young minds.

She graduated from the University of Free State with an honours degree in psychology counseling and is currently completing her PGCE in foundation phase.

Additionally, she is a prospective masters’ degree student, eager to pursue a degree in clinical psychology.

“Working at Local Toddler has been a dream come true,” says Motau. “I believe that when you do what you love, you don’t work a day in your life. I am passionate about nurturing and encouraging young minds so they reach their full potential.”

Local Toddler Pre-Primary School offers various support services to learners, including audiology testing, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, as needed.

The school provides a play-based programme tailored to cater for each learner’s individual needs.

“Local Toddler is not just a school but a centre of learning for both the learners and their parents,” Motau explains.

She also highlighted the importance of holistic development at Local Toddler. The school aims to ensure that learners are not only academically prepared but also socially and emotionally equipped to succeed in higher education.

“I pride myself not only as a teacher but also as a manager, a role I take very seriously.”

Motau concluded saying Local Toddler is a school with a difference. Together with her dedicated team, she aims to provide learners with quality education, love, and an environment that allows them to be who they want to be.
