Security guards tied up during Nirvana Primary School robbery

A manhunt is currently underway for four armed men who forcibly entered the school in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

POLOKWANE – The Westenburg police are appealing to the public to provide any information that can assist in tracking down the group of four men responsible for an armed robbery at Nirvana Primary School in Polokwane this week.

According to police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the four armed men forcibly entered the school in the early hours of Tuesday morning (August 6) and proceeded to the guardroom.

“They tied up the security officers and broke into the school and stole several laptops from the administration office,” Ledwaba said.

The suspects also robbed the security officers of their cellphones before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported.

“A case of business robbery has been opened and the police have intensified investigations to identify and arrest the suspects. A manhunt is currently underway,” he said.
