POLOKWANE – Police in Westenburg are appealing to the public for leads after a body was discovered in a bush near Southern Gateway on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased, a tall, dark-complexioned male, was found hanging from a tree, but by Tuesday, authorities had still not been able to confirm his identity.
A passersby who came across the tragic scene immediately alerted local police and emergency services.
Witnesses reported that the man, dressed in a hat and jeans, appeared to have taken his own life.
He was found with a rope around his neck and his feet balanced on an overturned bucket.
Police have confirmed they are working to identify the individual using fingerprints.
