Tommies and Kruinies face off in friendly match

Tom Naudé's friendly Fast 5 netball matches against Curro Heuwelkruin sparks competitive spirit ahead of national tournament.

POLOKWANE – A little competition can be beneficial, as it motivates you to improve. Even a friendly game, without official results, can spark a competitive spirit.

This was evident on Wednesday at Technical High School Tom Naudé during the friendly Fast 5 netball matches against Curro Heuwelkruin.

Fast 5 netball matches consist of four quarters, each lasting six minutes.

Kgaugelo Boshomane from Heuwelkruin defends Tsakani Malungane from Tom Naudé while Jedeline Mashele is ready to assist at the goal post.

The breaks between the first and second quarters, as well as the third and fourth quarters, are two minutes long, while the halftime break is four minutes.

Unlike traditional netball, which has seven players on the court, Fast 5 teams consist of 10 players, with five on the court at any given time.

Looking ahead, the South Africa Schools Netball Fast 5 Tournament is scheduled to take place on October 2-3.
