POLOKWANE – Last Friday, the Deputy Minister for International Relations and Cooperation, Thandi Moraka, attended a courtesy dinner at the Park Inn Hotel, hosted by the Limpopo United Business Forum (LUBF).
The event, held in celebration of Women’s Month, carried the theme ‘Accelerating Women’s Equality through Economic Diplomacy’ and was attended by various diplomats from neighbouring countries, dressed in traditional attire.

LUBF president, Tshepo Mathabatha, addressed the gathering, noting that the forum’s current leadership was in its final weeks, with the upcoming transition to new leadership. He highlighted the forum’s ongoing efforts to create platforms that foster relationships between business leaders and promote economic development.

Capricorn Mayor Mamedupi Teffo encouraged the diplomats to explore economic opportunities within the district, stressing the region’s potential in tourism, agriculture, and mining. She urged them to consider investing in the district’s diverse industries.
In the dimly lit room, businesswomen set up stalls showcasing locally produced items, including beads, soap, nuts, clothing, and skincare products. Some of these entrepreneurs already export their products to neighbouring countries and beyond.

Mathabatha reaffirmed the forum’s commitment to providing future opportunities for business leaders to network and build relationships with key stakeholders, all aimed at promoting economic growth.
