The vehicle MEC Ernest Rachoene was travelling in collided with a security company vehicle on the R516 road.

POLOKWANE – The Limpopo Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure says its MEC Ernest Rachoene went unharmed in a minor incident in Bela-Bela this morning (September 2).

Public works spokesperson Tendani Munyai says the vehicle the MEC was travelling in collided with a security company vehicle on the R516 road.

Munyai says Rachoene was travelling with his security team at the time.

“The police are investigating the accident scene to determine the exact cause of the crash. All occupants of the vehicles involved were not injured,” Munyai’s statement reads.

In 2022, the then Public Works MEC Nkakareng Rakgoale also went unharmed in a collision on the R529 road between Lebowakgomo and Jane Furse.

At the time, the spokesperson Witness Tiva said the collision happened when the MEC and her protectors were driving from a government event when an oncoming truck veered into their lane and collided with the vehicle in the rear.
