TAKE NOTE: Another shutdown to affect Polokwane’s water supply

A nine hour shutdown will negatively affect water supply to Polokwane when Lepelle Northern Water conducts repair work on two pipeline leaks.

POLOKWANE – Residents who receive water supply from the Ebenezer Water Scheme are encouraged to take necessary precaution ahead of a planned shutdown next Wednesday (September 18).

According to the Polokwane Municipalty, Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) will temporarily halt operations at the scheme to carry out critical repair work on two pipeline leaks discovered in Haenertsburg and the Boyne Taxi Rank.

Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said the repair work is expected to take approximately nine hours to complete.

“As a result, water supply to various areas within the Polokwane Municipality will be temporarily affected. We appeal to all affected communities to store sufficient water for essential use during this period,” his statement read.

Selala said the municipality remains in constant communication with LNW and will ensure timely updates on the progress of the repairs.
