DA’s petition for reliable water supply in Polokwane gains momentum

The DA is calling on the Polokwane Municipality to take immediate action to provide an uninterrupted water supply and upgrade infrastructure.

POLOKWANE – A petition by the DA, aiming at the forcing of Polokwane Municipality to take immediate and decisive action to resolve the city’s water crisis is gaining momentum and residents from all over the spectrum, irrespective of political affiliations, are coming forward to append their signatures.

“Access to clean, reliable water is a constitutional right – yet residents of Polokwane continue to suffer due to ongoing water shortages and an unreliable supply. We cannot remain silent any longer,” the DA states.

According to the petition, the municipality has failed in its duty to provide a consistent water supply to its residents, leaving many without access to this basic necessity for extended periods.

“Water interruptions affect our daily lives, our health, and our livelihoods and it is time to hold the municipality accountable,” they state.

“By signing this petition, you are calling on the Polokwane Municipality to take immediate and decisive action to resolve the water crisis. We demand an uninterrupted water supply for all residents, urgent infrastructure improvements to prevent future water shortages and transparent communication about the actions being taken to fix the problem. We as the residents of Polokwane demand water now. Together, we can ensure our voices are heard and secure access to this essential service for everyone,” the petition calls.
