WATCH: Aftermath of multi-vehicle collision in Thohoyandou

The incident occurred opposite the Khoroni Hotel and the road is closed to allow emergency services to respond to the incident. 

LIMPOPO – The Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety says the P277/1 road in Thohoyandou remains closed following a multi-vehicle incident.

Transport spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene says the incident occurred opposite the Khoroni Hotel and that the road is closed to allow emergency services to respond to the incident.

A video shared multiple times on social media shows various damaged vehicles including a bus, taxis, sedans and bakkies.

The cause of the incident and whether there are any fatalities or injuries is unknown.

“If you’re planning to travel through this area, please be aware of the closure and consider alternative routes to avoid delays. Stay safe on the roads,” she says.
