Jabez drummies scoop provincial colours

Six athletes from Jabez Christian Academy earned Limpopo colours at the Limca trials in Mokopane, excelling in baton, mace, pom, and flag events.

POLOKWANE – Drum majorettes from Jabez Christian Academy recently made their school proud when they received Limpopo colours during the Limpopo Majorette and Cheerleading Association (Limca) trials that was hosted at Laerskool Kruger Park in Mokopane.

They were part of the 65 athletes from various schools who took part in the event and Thato Phooko, Vhulenda Ramavhoya, Phenyo Mbalati, Mndondote Masheve, Lola Ramaphala and Gracious Phahla achieved above 70% in the prepared one-minute baton and prepared one-minute mace items.

They also qualified in the unprepared pom and flag items, as well as the bleep test. Jabez Principal, Dr Elana Erasmus is very proud of the achievements of the school’s drum majorettes. “They trained so hard, even over weekends and they could now reap the fruits of their efforts. We look forward to next year’s events,” Erasmus said.
