POLOKWANE – Laerskool Pietersburg Noord Primary (Noordskool) held its annual interhouse athletics meeting on Friday, showcasing the talent and school spirit of its learners on the rugby field. In preparation for next year, learners who were not competing wore colours representing their classes, adding excitement and motivation to the event.
Teachers and sports coordinators Chantelle van der Bank and Simonè Landsberg were responsible for the organising, and ensured a smooth event. Principal Greg Schoeman welcomed everyone and shared updates, including the much-anticipated Trolley Race event scheduled for November 29, after the exams.

Competing athletes, known as the Noordjies, participated in various items including shot put, discus, high jump, long jump, hurdles, javelin and springs. Gr 7 leaders assisted teachers by guiding athletes to their stations, and the top three athletes in each sport category qualified to represent the school at meetings next year.
Highlights of the day included Lethabo Mashupje winning the 1 500m race (girls u/12), Sepadi Maleka taking first place in the same event (boys u/12), and Charles Mampa securing a first place finish in shot put (boys u/11).
