Christmas meal ideas: Isaac’s festive favourites
Ga-Mamabolo's Isaac Modiba shares Christmas recipes, inspiring hope and community development through culinary passion.
POLOKWANE – 28-year-old Isaac Modiba from Ga-Mamabolo Spitzkop, a village outside Mankweng, is the founder of Isaac’s Food and Event.
Modiba studied hospitality at Capricorn TVET College and hopes to empower others through his food.
As a young entrepreneur, Modiba believes that discrimination and bullying of those who don’t have money should come to an end.
Living in a country full of unemployed youth Modiba saw the need to stand up for himself and his fellow brothers and sisters, and so he has made great efforts to hire people to help him in his business.
Modiba shared that being in the kitchen is his passion. As Christmas Day is (nearly) here Modiba shared some dishes which you can prepare for your loved ones.
Christmas lunch is one of the things that people look forward to on Christmas Day. Families spend hours in the kitchen preparing for Christmas lunch consisting of several colours.

Here are some of ideas and ingredients of meals which one can prepare for their families:
-Chakalaka
-Braai meat
-Coleslaw
-Beetroot
-Rice
-Pap
Ingredients:
-1 large onion
-1/2 robot peppers
-3 Carrots
-2 tomatoes
-1 tin of baked beans
-Curry powder
-Salt and Seasoning
Directions:
-Heat oil in pan/pot
-Add peppers and onion(diced)
-Add curry powder once the peppers and onion change colour and fry them
-Add carrots and fry them again
-Add tomatoes and stir
-Add seasoning
-Cover the pot and let it simmer for 5-10 minutes
-Add the baked beans and seasoning
-Cover the pot with a lid then allow it to simmer for 10 minutes
