Double murder case opened in Ha-Rangani

A double murder in Masisi prompts a major police manhunt after two Zimbabweans were found shot in their vehicle on Sunday.

LIMPOPO – The police have launched an extensive manhunt following the fatal shooting of two men in Ha-Rangani village in the Masisi policing area on Sunday.

According to Limpopo police spokesperson Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba, officers responded to a complaint at approximately 07:30. Upon arrival, they discovered a bakkie abandoned in the bush alongside a gravel road. One man was found inside the vehicle, seated in the driver’s seat with multiple gunshot wounds, while the second victim was discovered nearby, also fatally shot.

“Both victims are Zimbabwean nationals originally from Bulawayo, with one residing in Musina Location and the other in Ha-Rangani village.

At the scene, police recovered live ammunition, several spent cartridges, and one of the deceased’s cellphones,” Mashaba said.

A case of two counts of murder has been opened at Masisi Police Station, and the matter has been referred to the provincial organised crime unit for further investigation.

Provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe assured the public that resources have been mobilised to apprehend the suspects. Police are appealing to anyone with information that could assist in the investigation to contact Lt Col Rodney Ndou at 082 807 2666, their nearest police station, or the Crime Stop number 08600 10111.
