Black Leopards ready for season opener in Thohoyandou
Black Leopards are confident for their Motsepe Foundation Championship home opener, while VFC begin their campaign away.
LIMPOPO – Black Leopards, also known as Lidoda Duvha, are determined to start their Motsepe Foundation Championship League season with a win when they host Castric Stars at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday.
Head coach Joel Masutha emphasised the importance of a strong start at home.
“Everyone in the camp understands how crucial it is to win matches for our promotion ambitions to the elite league by season’s end. All our players are razor sharp. Preparations are going very well, and we are ready for whatever heat comes our way.”

He expressed confidence that his team will emerge victorious, adding that they are prepared to face any opponent with focus and determination.
Meanwhile, Venda Football Club (VFC) assistant coach Solly Luvhengo is optimistic as his side travels to face Cape Town City at Athlone Stadium. Luvhengo noted that the players have quickly adapted to his coaching philosophy under senior coach Clinton Larsen, and he expects the team to return home with three points.
“The team has been training hard, and we are confident that our preparations will pay off on match day,” he said.
Both teams are aiming to kick off the season on a high, setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting campaign in the Championship League.
